Cyber Threat Hunter

Salary: $105000 - 147000 per year Requirements: We require 2+ years of professional experience in cyber security analysis, incident response, or a closely related security field. We need hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, EDR tools, and network traffic analysis, along with familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. We expect strong problem-solving ability and the capability to present complex technical findings clearly, accurately, and appropriately for both technical and non-technical audiences. We require relevant industry certifications and a solid understanding of network protocols and Microsoft Windows endpoint security. We prefer a bachelors degree in cyber security, information security, computer science, engineering, or a related IT discipline. We prefer 4+ years of professional experience in a cyber-security-focused role. We prefer demonstrated knowledge of cyber threat hunting methodologies, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and mapping adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures to observed activity. We prefer advanced industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, CThH, or CySA+. We require an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Responsibilities: We proactively hunt for threats using the HMM-4 methodology and the MITRE ATT&CK framework. We build and refine hunt hypotheses using threat intelligence, internal data, and analysis of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures. We partner with internal teams to gather and evaluate security data from logs, alerts, network traffic, and endpoint telemetry. We use advanced tools and technologies to uncover indicators of compromise and unusual activity that may signal malicious behavior. We conduct detailed analysis of discovered threats, assess their potential impact, and recommend effective mitigation and response actions. We document investigation goals and deliver comprehensive reports that include root cause analysis, remediation guidance, and improved detections where security gaps are identified. We stay current on emerging threats, attack methods, and security technologies through ongoing learning and knowledge sharing.
