Application Engineer

Salary: $111000 - 153000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. We look for 7+ years of relevant industry experience, including customer-facing work. We require the ability to obtain or hold a DoD Secret clearance. We need strong knowledge of test engineering, electronics, and computer architecture. We look for hands-on experience with high-level programming tools such as LabVIEW, TestStand, and C/C#/C++. We require the ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs. of test equipment. We value strong leadership, time management, and critical problem-solving skills. We need experience building automated test software using PXI chassis and interfacing with analog and digital I/O cards, DMMs, oscilloscopes, NI switching and signal routing, DAQ systems, power supplies, RF analyzers, and power sensors. We require familiarity with hardware interfaces such as GPIB, USB, Ethernet, and serial protocols. We look for knowledge of measurement error sources, appropriate test and measurement instrumentation selection, schematic and wiring diagram interpretation, hardware/software integration, BOM creation and review, CAD and PCB tools, statistical analysis methods such as Cp, Cpk, and GR&R, and cable harness design. We value the ability to collaborate across technicians, engineers, and program managers. We look for high attention to detail, curiosity, persistence, independence, and a strong work ethic. Preferred experience includes Testeract, SystemLink, defense industry exposure, cross-platform Windows/Linux development, and NI LabVIEW certification. Responsibilities: We support site acceptance testing, commissioning, training, and startup efforts. We act as the voice of the customer by relaying issues, feedback, and insights to product and business teams. We provide first-line technical support, coaching, and training to customer personnel. We own issues through resolution by troubleshooting, reproducing, documenting, and coordinating support across teams. We participate in engineering project meetings and share design-for-serviceability feedback. We maintain accurate system documentation and reporting. We support on-site service, repair, and installation of our systems and products. We take part in customer installation and training programs as needed. We deliver post-deployment consulting to improve system uptime and usage effectiveness.
