AI/Machine Learning Engineer

Salary: $83000 - 141000 per year Requirements: We require at least 2 years of relevant work experience, with 3 or more years typically preferred. We value experience building and operating data pipelines that support training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring of AI/ML models and services. We prefer familiarity with AI platform capabilities such as LLM gateways, vector databases, retrieval systems, or multi-model orchestration. We look for knowledge of retrieval workflows, including embedding creation, chunking approaches, and scalable search patterns. We prefer exposure to AI observability and evaluation tools, such as LangSmith or similar platforms, along with automated quality checks for AI systems. We value hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CDK, or comparable technologies for cloud environment management. We look for understanding of cloud fundamentals, including networking, identity management, secrets handling, and secure service-to-service communication. We prefer experience improving the performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of AI workloads through caching, model routing, and workload monitoring. We value familiarity with modern developer productivity tools, including code assistants and AI-enabled development workflows. Responsibilities: We implement CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, evaluation gates, contract testing, and controlled environment promotion to support dependable AI/ML platform and model releases. We help define and maintain shared platform standards, including API contracts, semantic versioning, contribution models, documentation, and code reviews, so multiple engineering teams can build safely on the platform. We apply telemetry-first engineering practices using logs, metrics, and traces to strengthen monitoring, reliability, and operational excellence. We contribute to runbooks, incident response, operational readiness, and postmortem activities. We build with security and responsible AI in mind, including secrets management, least-privilege access, safe logging, and protections against prompt injection, tool misuse, and data leakage.
