About the role

About the Client Our client is a mission-driven senior care organization based in Minnesota, offering assisted living and customized living services to older adults and individuals with mental health or cognitive support needs. With several years of operation and a growing digital presence, they are looking to strengthen their online platforms to better serve residents, families, and internal staff. As a small, owner-operated business, they value team members who bring both technical reliability and a genuine care for the communities they support. Why does this role exist? This role exists to give the client a dedicated, hands-on developer who can build and maintain their web presence as the business grows — from public-facing e-commerce functionality to internal tools that support day-to-day operations. The client currently relies on WordPress and SiteGround for their sites and HubSpot for client-facing workflows, and they need someone who can both build new websites and keep existing ones running smoothly, without requiring heavy oversight. Ultimately, this position is about freeing up the client's leadership team to focus on care delivery by ensuring their digital tools are functional, current, and easy to use. The Impact you’ll make Website Development Build new websites on WordPress from initial concept through launch Set up and configure e-commerce functionality (e.g., WooCommerce) for client-facing sites Develop internal tools/web pages to support staff and operational workflows Website Maintenance Updates Perform regular updates to existing WordPress sites (plugins, themes, core software) Troubleshoot and resolve site bugs, downtime, or performance issues Manage hosting-related tasks within SiteGround E-commerce Support Maintain and update e-commerce site features, product pages, and checkout flows Monitor e-commerce functionality to ensure a smooth user experience Support any integrations tied to online transactions Systems Integrations Maintain HubSpot integrations connected to the website (forms, tracking, workflows) Collaborate with Google Workspace tools for documentation and team coordination Ensure consistency and functionality across all connected platforms Design Content Support Provide light design support for web pages using existing brand assets Incorporate AI-generated and Canva-created content into site pages Ensure visual consistency across new and existing pages Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required: Proven hands-on experience building and maintaining WordPress websites Experience with WooCommerce or other WordPress-based e-commerce setups Familiarity managing sites hosted on SiteGround (or comparable hosting platforms) Working knowledge of HubSpot (forms, integrations, or workflows) Strong written and verbal English communication skills for daily collaboration with a US-based client Your superpowers are... You care about doing quality work even when no one's looking over your shoulder, and you communicate clearly and early when you hit a roadblock. If you like the idea of supporting a mission-driven organization with real-world impact — rather than just shipping features into a void — this role will feel meaningful to you. What to expect...
