Test and Automation Engineer

Salary: $54,600 - 81,900 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in engineering, physics, mechatronics, automation, controls, robotics, or computer science. Strong experience with LabVIEW, C++, C#, MATLAB, or VB. Experience designing with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or Pro/Engineer. Strong electrical, mechanical, and controls knowledge for troubleshooting systems, machinery, and test equipment. Ability to pass a vision and color-vision test, or correct vision or color blindness through other means. Must meet applicable ITAR requirements as a U.S. Person, or otherwise qualify for a license that permits employment in the role. Preferred: Two years of experience with electric motors and/or rotating machinery. Preferred: Familiarity with database structures and SQL. Preferred: Familiarity with industry-standard machine communication protocols. Preferred: Experience with precision measurement devices and data acquisition, including analog and digital I/O and temperature measurement. Preferred: Experience using blueprints, work instructions, and schematics to troubleshoot issues or make changes. Preferred: Experience with pneumatic or hydraulic systems. Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills for frequent interaction with internal and external customers and suppliers. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain customized automation equipment, processes, programs, and databases for our global factories, supporting new product introduction, operational efficiency, and quality. Analyze tests and develop and maintain software, test equipment, programs, and fixtures used to develop, fabricate, and produce motors and higher-level assemblies. Provide analytical operations support by investigating quality data, identifying root causes, and developing robust corrective actions. Troubleshoot issues and determine root causes and corrective actions. Design and modify automated test and manufacturing or process equipment, including electrical schematics, mechanical CAD, test software, and SQL/MySQL databases. Maintain systems and processes involving new equipment while taking production requirements into account. Support implementation of standard work, perform quality checks, and collect data. Collaborate with development teams, manufacturing engineers, and production personnel to resolve technical issues arising during development and manufacturing. Provide design-for-manufacturability and design-for-testability feedback to design teams. Participate in product evaluation testing, including ABS events, design reviews, and supplier meetings as needed. Store final test specifications and Gauge R&R results in SVN.
