Staff Software Lead

Salary: $193000 - 290000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree with at least 12 years of experience in software engineering, computer engineering, project engineering, or a closely related technical field, or a masters degree with 10 years of experience, or a PhD with 8 years of experience. We need experience in risk and opportunity management. We expect knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM). We require experience tracking software development progress against baseline estimates. We prefer knowledge of inertial measurement units (IMUs) or navigation equations and processing. We prefer experience managing annual labor cost accounts of $10M or more. We prefer an active DoD Secret Clearance. Responsibilities: We serve as the cost account manager for software engineering scope. We oversee the planning and execution of selected software functions for the EGI-M program. We facilitate and run scrum-Agile ceremonies, including PI planning, sprint planning, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives, and PI reviews. We identify execution risks and take steps to reduce their impact on software development. We determine staffing needs and coordinate with functional managers to adjust team allocation across multiple scrum teams. We present portions of the execution plan and program progress to customers and senior leadership. We gather, manage, and report program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs). We coordinate with the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering Integration & Test Lead, Program Manager, and customer to maintain the integrity and feasibility of the technical baseline. We align measurement objectives and activities with program performance goals. We travel approximately 10% of the time to customers, suppliers, and other Solstice Analytics locations.
