Sr. Software Engineer

Salary: $119000 - 164000 per year Requirements: We are seeking a bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, paired with 5–8 years of relevant experience maintaining CIS applications in a Java environment, or 9–12 years of equivalent education and work experience. We need a solid grasp of advanced programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms. We want candidates who have mastered 2–3 programming languages or frameworks and understand functional programming concepts. We require strong database knowledge, including views, stored procedures, triggers, user-defined data types, and index optimization. We need deep familiarity with APIs, including the ability to design end-to-end new APIs. We expect the ability to handle most analysis and support activities independently. We look for full-stack experience and the ability to collaborate independently with designers, business analysts, and architects. We value subject matter expertise in a critical technical area and the ability to turn requirements into solutions, estimate work, and help break down larger tasks. We require expert Agile development experience and familiarity with tools and platforms such as ADO, JIRA, GitHub, cloud technologies, containers, cloud-native solutions, streaming data tools like Kafka, Snowflake, and AI/ML data science. Preferred qualifications include strong Java skills in a collaborative environment with version control and coding standards. Responsibilities: We engage with business partners to gather information, analyze needs, and deliver practical, efficient, and cost-effective solutions, while documenting product specifications and design details for assigned components. We lead engineering efforts and guide less experienced engineers, stay current on emerging technologies, prioritize issues from error reports, and support version control, CI/CD, and automation practices. We use the Oracle Utilities Application Framework SDK to design, develop, extend, and support Oracle CC&B application extensions and batch programs. We build CC&B modules and customizations with Java and Groovy scripting, use CC&B configurations where appropriate, and review complex code to ensure alignment with functional and technical requirements. We develop and review technical architecture, contributing to solutions that may span applications, web, mobile, full stack, integrations, on-premises environments, or cloud platforms. We create automated unit tests and automated UI tests. We ensure risks and issues are properly captured and managed according to established processes. We strengthen our knowledge of preferred technologies, methods, standards, and policies, while maintaining technical and business expertise in our discipline. We apply strong debugging and problem-solving skills and lead peer code reviews. We provide technology recommendations by evaluating trends, product availability, risks, and business fit, while participating in architecture reviews and standards-setting activities. We help prepare white papers and deliver presentations to explain technology recommendations. We coach and lead other engineers on the team and contribute to process improvements that increase operational efficiency and quality.
