Sr. Data Platform Engineer

Salary: $99,100 - 132,100 per year Requirements: We need strong expertise in designing and maintaining data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data integration across complex systems. We look for advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for query tuning and data processing. We value solid knowledge of data modeling and design, including entity relationships and metadata management. We prefer familiarity with big data tools such as Hadoop, Apache Kafka, and distributed file systems like HDFS. We need the ability to build processes that improve data standardization, reliability, and quality. We require competence in troubleshooting complex data issues and resolving conflicts between models. We look for experience developing custom software components and analytics applications. We need effective communication and leadership skills to guide technical decisions and mentor team members. We typically require a bachelors degree or an equivalent mix of education and experience. We generally expect 7+ years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or a related field. We prefer hands-on experience with advanced ETL development, SQL/Python scripting, and multi-platform data integration. Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries is preferred. Responsibilities: We design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL programs to integrate complex data sources across internal and external systems. We write and optimize advanced SQL and Python queries to improve data processing and performance. We develop and maintain metadata repositories to support data integrity, accuracy, and usability across enterprise systems. We create and apply processes that strengthen data standardization, reliability, and quality across platforms. We troubleshoot and resolve complex data analytics issues, including production and development problems in database management systems. We develop and maintain query libraries and custom software components that support analytics and reporting. We recommend and implement tools, technologies, and best practices to improve our data engineering capabilities and system performance. We ensure governance, security, and regulatory compliance through thorough data quality checks and documentation. We collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with enterprise architecture and business priorities. We provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineering teams to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
