Sr Data Platform Specialist

Salary: $99,100 - 132,100 per year Requirements: Expertise in designing and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integrations across complex systems. Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing and query optimization. Strong understanding of data modeling and design, including entity relationships and metadata management. Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Kafka, and distributed file systems such as HDFS. Ability to establish and improve data standardization, reliability, and quality processes. Skill in diagnosing complex data issues and resolving conflicts between data models. Experience developing custom software components and analytics applications. Effective communication and leadership skills, including the ability to guide technical decisions and mentor colleagues. Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Typically, at least 7 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or a related field. Hands-on experience developing advanced ETL processes, scripting with SQL and Python, and integrating data across multiple platforms. Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry is preferred. Responsibilities: Provide technical leadership in designing, implementing, and optimizing our enterprise data infrastructure for analytics and decision-making. Build scalable data pipelines and ETL programs that integrate complex data sources across internal and external systems. Write and optimize advanced SQL queries and Python code to improve data processing and query performance. Develop and maintain metadata repositories and ensure enterprise data integrity, accuracy, and usability. Create and implement processes that strengthen data standardization, reliability, and quality across platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve complex analytics and database management issues in production and development environments. Develop and maintain query libraries and custom software components to support analytics and reporting. Recommend and implement tools, technologies, and best practices that improve our data engineering capabilities and system performance. Support governance, security, and regulatory compliance through data quality checks and documentation. Work with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with enterprise architecture and business priorities. Mentor junior engineers and promote sound practices and continuous improvement.
