As a Data Automation Engineer, you will design and implement cloud-native data pipelines, incorporate Generative AI technologies, and enable advanced analytics in a high-impact, collaborative environment. location: Washington, Washington, D.C. job type: Contract salary: $47.26 - 57.26 per hour work hours: education: Bachelors responsibilities: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Build, maintain, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on AWS and Azure cloud platforms. Ingest and transform high-volume data streams using Apache Spark and Apache Kafka or Flume. Integrate Generative AI models and services (e.g., Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, LangChain) into Python-based data workflows. Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to automate deployments via CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments. Ensure all data solutions adhere to strict federal security, privacy, and compliance standards. qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Federal Public Trust Clearance. Experience: 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data automation, or related fields. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, AWS Data Services (Glue, Lambda, S3, EMR), and Apache Spark. GenAI Exposure: Demonstrated experience integrating LLM APIs or Generative AI services into Python applications. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Machine Learning Specialty, or Databricks Certification. Experience with vector search, RAG pipelines, or Apache Solr / OpenSearch.
