Senior System Engineer

Design and manage secure Azure and on-premises hybrid infrastructure Build CI/CD pipelines and automate system deployment workflows Manage IIS servers, security hardening, and performance tuning Wellington-based, 3 days per week in the office , career progression pathways ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to be based in Wellington. You will play a key role in designing, managing, and improving system platforms that support critical operational and public-facing services. Working across a hybrid environment, you will drive automation, build CI/CD pipelines, and maintain secure, top-performing Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure. You will also guide team members and support best practices across security and system setup KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design and manage secure enterprise systems across cloud and on-premises platforms. Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD automation pipelines using Git-based source control. Handle security hardening, vulnerability management, system monitoring, and incident response. Manage IIS administration, including website deployment, performance tuning, and SSL certificates. Monitor system capacity, improve platform performance, and support day-to-day delivery. Guide team members, review technical work, and promote clean infrastructure practices. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 5+ years of experience managing secure, large-scale enterprise systems. Strong skills with hybrid platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and continuous delivery. Good knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, virtual systems, and basic networking. Practical experience managing Microsoft IIS, web applications, and SSL certificates.
