Software Engineer (Telework)

Salary: $92000 - 183000 per year Requirements: We need a solid understanding of computer architecture, networking, and security fundamentals. We are looking for experience handling complex systems or concepts in an operations and sustainment setting. You should be able to work with limited guidance to deliver project objectives. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Timeline, is required. Experience with project management platforms such as Jira and Confluence is expected. You must have clear, concise verbal and written communication skills. You should be detail-oriented while still keeping the broader business picture in view. We value proven success in a matrix environment working with internal and external stakeholders. You need the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Hands-on experience designing secure, scalable, and resilient system architectures is required. Scripting ability in languages such as Bash or PowerShell is needed. We prefer strong communication skills for explaining technical ideas to non-technical audiences. DevSecOps knowledge and pipeline experience are highly desirable. Experience with GitLab or Jenkins is preferred. Familiarity with Scrum and Agile development methods is desired. Background in virtualization technologies is a plus. Knowledge of secure coding practices and the software development life cycle is preferred. Experience with cloud deployments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is desirable. Understanding of operating system security, including Windows and Linux, is preferred. Database experience with tools such as SQLite or PostgreSQL is desired. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are highly valued. Responsibilities: We provide technical leadership focused on software architecture and security. We stay current with emerging technologies and help shape technology insertion plans. We participate in software reviews and manage scheduling, agendas, meeting notes, action items, and follow-up. We collaborate closely with program and engineering teams. We create and support automation for security-related tasks. We strengthen DevSecOps practices, including automated pipelines and security functions. We address requirement issues tied to team projects. We review and quality-check documentation. We support program CDRL development. We prepare weekly project status reports. We work with project leads to gather, analyze, and document technical requirements. We contribute to statements of work for new business opportunities. We produce executive-level status updates. We identify and help satisfy legal and export requirements. We prepare test plans, test descriptions, and test cases. We collect metrics related to quality and performance. We collaborate in a team setting and lead cross-functional efforts.
