Staff Software Engineer

Salary: $123000 - 245000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with relevant coursework. We expect at least 9 years of professional software development experience. We need familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). We look for proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams. We require experience or working knowledge of earned value, schedule, cost, and risk management methods. We value experience in cost estimating and proposal development. We seek software engineering experience, particularly with C++ and Java, along with familiarity with real-time operating systems. We require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD SECRET-level security clearance. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Strong organizational ability, interpersonal skills, and the capacity to communicate effectively with technical and program-level audiences is highly desired. We value exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation and brief senior stakeholders. Experience delivering complex, high-risk programs on schedule and within performance and cost constraints is preferred. Military product development experience, especially with MK41 VLS, is a plus. Responsibilities: We have the software lead responsibility for a major launcher program and oversee deliverables across multiple software applications. We maintain and modify multiple MK41 Vertical Launching System software products in Moorestown, New Jersey. We provide technical leadership to the team and guide engineering execution. We manage earned value, control accounts, schedules, costs, and associated risks. We engage regularly with customers and participate in quarterly in-progress reviews. We handle change management and risk mitigation activities. We may also contribute directly to software development work as business needs require.
