Software Engineer Level 3

Salary: $108000 - 162000 per year Requirements: We need a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university, plus 5 years of experience; or a masters degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant experience; or 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. We require an active, in-scope DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application, and it must be valid to start. We are looking for software engineering and development experience in Java/J2EE or equivalent object-oriented development. We need knowledge of software engineering practices, including coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration management. We require strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. We need proven problem-solving ability, including identifying root causes, evaluating performance or operational issues, and designing and implementing solutions. We expect familiarity with tools such as Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse. We require knowledge of Agile development methods. We need understanding of systems engineering artifacts such as use cases and SysML diagrams. Responsibilities: We perform detailed analysis and technical support for software products, including complex issue resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support. We maintain, debug, and configure related software. We develop or modify operating system applications based on specifications. We assist with program design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation. We coordinate with other support teams to resolve issues, establish standards, and improve operating system efficiency. We design, code, test, and implement tools for operational automation. We contribute across most phases of software system programming and may work with limited guidance in some areas.
