Software Engineer Level 2/3

Salary: $84000 - 157000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in a STEM discipline, preferably computer science or engineering, plus 2 years of experience for level 2, or a masters degree; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree with 4+ additional years of experience. For level 3, we require a bachelors degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience, or a masters degree with 3 years, or a PhD with 1 year; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree with 4+ additional years of experience. We are seeking demonstrated software development experience. We need experience with Python application development, C++, and Bash scripting. We require U.S. citizenship and a current or active Top Secret clearance at the time of application. Responsibilities: We develop full-stack software across the OS, platform, and mission-specific layers. We build client and server applications and services using service-oriented or object-oriented architectures and message-bus-based data exchange. We work with languages and tools such as Python, C++, Postgres, Ansible, cloud infrastructure provisioning, PKI, and static code analysis. We make decisions as self-starters with budget and schedule considerations in mind. We support operations ground software and its configurations, including troubleshooting software issues and hardware impacts. We participate in acceptance test events, including test execution. We drive test automation. We configure ground segment software. We identify, resolve, and remediate software defects. We implement software enhancements based on customer change requests or mission needs. We provide ground software support during launch and launch rehearsal events. We help install new ground segment software in operational, development, and test environments.
