About the role

Support design and evaluation of complex systems, ensuring effective systems engineering practices.

Salary: $96000 - 235000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a closely related technical discipline. We require at least 7 years of systems engineering experience supporting the design, development, or evaluation of complex systems. We require experience developing CONOPS, system requirements and analysis, system design and architecture, verification and validation, or similar systems engineering activities. We require experience with systems engineering management plans and related planning artifacts such as test plans, MBSE/DE implementation plans, or the development of systems engineering processes and technical performance measures. We require hands-on experience with systems engineering, MBSE, and DE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, DOORS, Jira, and Confluence. We require strong verbal and written communication skills, along with sound critical thinking abilities. We require the ability to work effectively with, and help lead, multidisciplinary teams including industry and government sponsors. We require willingness and ability to travel periodically, including short trips to sponsor offices at the Washington Navy Yard, supporting contractor sites, and occasional travel to military bases across the country. We require an active Secret clearance, the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, and U.S. citizenship for access to classified information. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field. Preferred qualifications include at least 10 years of systems engineering experience focused on complex systems across the lifecycle. Preferred qualifications include experience applying MBSE and DE approaches to guide system design, development, and evaluation. Preferred qualifications include experience supporting complex systems or system-of-systems work in early program lifecycle phases. Preferred qualifications include experience with Navy Strategic Systems programs and/or Air Force ICBM programs. Preferred qualifications include an active Top Secret clearance. Responsibilities: We provide systems engineering expertise to guide the design, development, and evaluation of strategic weapon systems. We participate as systems engineers on projects, studies, and technical working groups spanning requirements development, analysis, concept and technology development, acquisition, test planning and execution, system evaluation, and risk assessment throughout the program lifecycle. We apply systems engineering methods and analyses, including model-based systems engineering and digital engineering, to support strategic weapon system development. We prepare formal presentations and reports to document technical recommendations and solutions for sponsors and stakeholders. We communicate proposed concepts, solutions, and analysis results clearly and effectively to decision-makers and partner teams.
