Senior Software Engineer

Salary: $111,308.33 - 155,435 per year Requirements: We require a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline. We are looking for 5+ years of professional experience in software development. We need advanced Python expertise, including experience with asynchronous programming. We require hands-on experience building microservices and APIs with FastAPI. We value practical experience with Kafka or similar real-time messaging platforms. We expect strong familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, and IAM. We need experience working with DynamoDB or comparable NoSQL databases. We require experience packaging and deploying applications with Docker. We expect the ability to produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. We require prior experience working in Agile delivery environments. Experience with algorithmic or data-driven systems is considered a strong advantage. We value experience mentoring teammates and contributing to architectural planning. French-English bilingualism is required, with full professional proficiency in English. Responsibilities: We design, develop, and maintain high-performance microservices for our autonomous HVAC optimization platform. We partner with data scientists and machine learning engineers to move advanced building control algorithms into production. We build dependable, scalable APIs with FastAPI to support real-time ingestion, processing, and decision-making workflows. We implement event-driven solutions using Kafka to enable high-throughput streaming and distributed processing. We create, tune, and support NoSQL data models in DynamoDB for large-scale operational use. We deploy and operate cloud-native services on AWS while following security, performance, and resiliency best practices. We containerize and maintain application components with Docker to ensure consistent releases across environments. We contribute to technical architecture decisions so our systems remain robust, scalable, and maintainable. We investigate and resolve complex production issues to maintain strong reliability and performance. We participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and cross-functional planning with our broader team. We coach junior developers and share guidance on coding standards, design principles, and problem-solving approaches.
