Senior Full Stack Developer - Washington

Salary: $92,000 - 132,000 per year Requirements: 7+ years of full-stack development experience, including 5+ years of hands-on Drupal experience delivering end-to-end platform projects. Demonstrated expertise with the Drupal Webform module for complex, public-facing forms. Strong PHP, Twig, and modern JavaScript skills, with full-stack experience that includes data modeling. Experience designing and integrating REST APIs with enterprise systems, including error handling and versioning. Experience integrating with case management or BPM platforms such as Appian, or comparable systems, and with document management platforms. Experience with AWS cloud-native delivery, containerized deployments using EKS/Kubernetes, and CI/CD. A track record delivering solutions that meet federal security and Section 508 standards. Agile/SAFe delivery experience, including a team-leading role. Substantial experience using AI-assisted programming tools, such as Microsoft Copilot and other DOL-approved secure AI tools. Experience with PACE or comparable Kubernetes/OpenShift container environments and MySQL-backed Drupal applications. Experience designing secure, accessible, high-volume public intake workflows with real-time validation, one-time submissions, file handling, API or event integrations, and audit trails. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred: Drupal/Acquia or Agile/SAFe certification; Kafka producer/consumer implementation experience; experience with OCR, document classification, or AI-assisted intake triage; and prior federal public-facing application delivery. Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end design and development of a public-facing intake application, including its front end, forms engine, services, data model, and integrations. Build complex, accessible, multi-step intake forms with validation, conditional logic, document uploads, save-and-resume, and confirmation workflows. Design and implement integrations with enterprise case management and document management platforms using REST APIs and event streaming. Implement secure file-upload workflows, virus scanning, metadata tagging, and object-storage patterns for sensitive documents. Integrate identity and authentication services for public users, including federated identity providers. Prefer marketplace and contributed modules to custom code, developing custom connectors when justified. Implement observability, structured logging, error handling, and retry behavior across integration points. Mentor mid-level developers, lead code reviews, and set technical direction for the workstream. Ensure delivery meets federal security requirements and Section 508/WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. Deliver Drupal 10+ and MySQL solutions on the DOL PACE platform, integrating with Appian case-management backends, Kafka/event streaming, Login.gov, file scanning and storage, and DOL enterprise services. Implement PWS non-functional requirements for responsive design, browser compatibility, performance, fault tolerance, audit logging, records retention, security, accessibility, and maintainability. Produce and support release artifacts, automated test evidence, security and Section 508 remediation, configuration and change records, and technical documentation for Government approval.
