Senior Director, Enterprise Architect

Salary: $136,500 - 300,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for more than 15 years of experience in architecture roles such as enterprise, solution, or platform architecture, with a strong record of delivering large-scale distributed systems in regulated environments. We need deep knowledge of modern architecture areas, including cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, data platforms, security architecture, and reliability engineering. We value hands-on experience making architecture actionable through infrastructure as code, policy as code, CI/CD, automated quality and security checks, and reference implementations. We require strong familiarity with the SDLC and agile delivery, including product mindset, backlog refinement, sprint ceremonies, and close collaboration with engineering teams to turn architecture into working code. We are seeking practical governance experience, including designing risk-aware, lightweight processes and applying controls without slowing delivery. We look for exposure to AI and ML in engineering workflows, including GenAI-assisted design, coding assistants, architectural validation, and responsible AI considerations such as model risk, data protection, and auditability. We need excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly, build agreement, and drive adoption across platforms and teams. Responsibilities: We will define and maintain a library of reusable, executable architecture patterns, including reference implementations, IaC modules, code scaffolds, policy-as-code, and CI/CD templates. We will modernize architecture governance by designing lightweight guardrails, controls, and decision workflows that reduce friction and improve transparency. We will integrate architecture into the SDLC by embedding architects and patterns into developer workflows such as epics, code reviews, pipelines, and automated gates. We will create and maintain technology standards, reference architectures, and decision frameworks that are clear, testable, and easy to adopt. We will evaluate and pilot AI-enabled tools for pattern recommendation, design validation, risk detection, and documentation generation. We will produce playbooks, workshops, and enablement materials, and partner with platform leads, product owners, engineers, and risk and compliance teams to support adoption at scale. We will define and monitor KPIs such as cycle time reduction, defect prevention, policy adherence, pattern reuse, cloud and resource cost efficiency, and security posture. We will establish architecture decision records, rationales, and lineage that connect business outcomes, technical decisions, controls, and implementation artifacts. We will advise on platform and product roadmaps so architectural choices align with business priorities, operational resilience, and cost optimization. We will help foster a culture of excellence through collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
