We require a bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, or a closely related field. We require an active Secret clearance. We need demonstrated experience applying advanced statistical methods, predictive analytics, and machine learning to operational or business challenges. We need hands-on experience using AI and ML tools, including generative AI or large language model applications, within analytic or decision-support workflows. We require strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data analysis tools for wrangling, modeling, and visualization. We require experience creating executive-level visualizations, dashboards, and analytic briefings for senior decision-makers. We need familiarity with responsible AI principles and model governance practices relevant to DoD or government environments. We require strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. We require excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical and AI-generated insights to non-technical audiences. We need someone who is organized, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and effective in a fast-paced environment. We require the ability to support on-site client meetings within the National Capital Region. A masters degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Experience with DoD-approved AI and generative AI platforms, including genai.mil or equivalent NIPR/SIPR AI environments, is preferred. Familiarity with LLM applications, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation techniques in government or defense analytic workflows is preferred. Experience supporting USG, USSF, DoD, or other national security space programs in analytically intensive settings is preferred. Familiarity with U.S. Government or DoD acquisition processes, analytic rigor standards, and mission-support decision frameworks is preferred. Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and visualization tools is preferred. Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, and Databricks, as well as ML/MLOps frameworks for model lifecycle management, is preferred. We develop and maintain predictive models, statistical analyses, and stochastic forecasting methods to evaluate current and future COMSATCOM demand, utilization, capacity, and operational risk. We apply advanced analytics and AI/ML techniques, including regression, classification, clustering, anomaly detection, deep learning, and generative AI, to uncover trends and actionable insights. We use DoD-approved AI and generative AI platforms, including genai.mil and equivalent NIPR/SIPR environments, to accelerate analysis and produce executive-ready deliverables while applying responsible AI practices. We design reproducible analytic workflows, data pipelines, and model validation processes that support transparency, traceability, and repeatability. We partner with data engineers to operationalize pipelines and deploy models into production. We translate complex operational and business questions into analytical models, simulations, and AI/ML-enabled decision-support tools for USSF CSCO leadership and mission partners. We create executive-level visualizations, dashboards, and briefings that make technical and AI-generated findings clear and actionable for senior stakeholders. We monitor global, regional, and situational SATCOM trends and incorporate them into forecasts, scenario analyses, and strategic assessments. We support analytic studies with COMSATCOM subject matter experts, including cost analyses, business case evaluations, market research, commercial capability assessments, and course-of-action comparisons. We develop metrics, analytical frameworks, and model-based decision aids to support planning, portfolio management, and leadership data calls. We provide technical leadership on data science best practices, AI governance, and model lifecycle management, and respond to ad hoc analytic requests from senior leadership with timely, defensible analysis.
