Senior Data Engineer on-site

Salary: $82,000 - 122,000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience. Eight or more years of experience in data engineering or data architecture roles. At least one delivered production migration to a modern data platform. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer or Azure Data Engineer Associate may substitute for formal education. Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering modern data platforms. Direct Microsoft Fabric experience is strongly preferred, with transferable experience in Azure Synapse, Databricks, or a comparable Lakehouse platform also valued. Strong SQL engineering skills, including the ability to model, transform, and land data appropriately. Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ETL processes. Experience integrating disparate systems through APIs. Proficiency with Power BI semantic models and report development. Comfort working within a Microsoft 365 and Azure ecosystem, including OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and Entra. Responsibilities: Design our data architecture in Microsoft Fabric, including a Lakehouse medallion model, and lead the migration of legacy SQL databases, ETL server processes, and vendor reporting into it. Establish engineering standards for source control, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and documentation across our data estate. Define how data is delivered to and used by end users through semantic models, Power BI, and self-service tools. Apply AI, including Microsoft Copilot, agents, and AI-assisted development, to speed delivery and expand analytical and operational capability. Work with business teams to identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency or capability, and turn those needs into well-architected solutions. Build resilient, stress-tested solutions and lead root-cause analysis when processes fail. Document architecture, dependencies, and runbooks so critical knowledge is shared and not siloed.
