Senior AI/Software Engineer (STAR.OS)

Salary: $97000 - 140000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. We are looking for a candidate with hands-on experience in at least one of the following programming languages: C++, Java, Go, Rust, or Python. We need experience working with DevOps tooling such as Docker or Podman, Kubernetes or Helm, or CI/CD platforms like GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins. We require the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. We seek a highly motivated professional with a strong background in artificial intelligence and software engineering. We value strong skills in object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms. We are looking for someone with familiarity in concurrency, including threaded and multi-processing approaches, as well as I/O concepts such as block storage, networks, and databases. We want a team-oriented communicator who can collaborate effectively and lead technical efforts when needed. We prefer candidates with experience mentoring junior engineers and taking on technical lead responsibilities. Responsibilities: We develop software products that apply artificial intelligence to deliver advanced capabilities to our customers. We participate across the full system development lifecycle, from requirements definition through design, implementation, integration, and flight testing. We contribute to proof-of-concept work, prototype development, demonstration builds, and the transition of solutions into production. We write code using modern computer science methods to solve complex problems and deliver innovative technical solutions. We work with concurrent programming techniques, including threaded and multi-process execution, and handle I/O-related concerns across storage, network, and database environments. We take on leadership duties as needed and mentor junior engineers to support team growth and capability development. We collaborate closely with a small, agile team to iterate quickly and mature solutions efficiently. We help create and refine artificial intelligence solutions for deployment in operational environments.
