Security Analyst

Salary: $72,000 - 112,000 per year Requirements: High school diploma and at least six years of relevant security analysis experience. Hands-on experience or educational background in IT systems security or system administration. Experience with information security incident response procedures and practices. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, including templates and style guidelines for consistent branding. Strong understanding of enterprise operations and secure practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, coordinate across teams and with vendors, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines while communicating work status. Willingness to learn, take on new tasks, adapt to shifting priorities and requirements, retain and communicate processes, and respond constructively to feedback. Preferred: Bachelors degree in information technology, computer science, or a related technical field, with at least three years of relevant work experience. Preferred: Information security certifications such as CompTIA, ISC(2), SANS GIAC, CCNA Security, or similar. Preferred: Health Information Technology experience and centralized log management experience. Preferred: Familiarity with information security regulations and standards, including the NIST 800 series and ARC-AMPE, and experience supporting compliance assessments and audits. Preferred: Work or consulting experience in federal, state, city, or local government. Preferred: Knowledge of SOC operations, including monitoring, alert triage, incident investigation, and security dashboards; vulnerability scanning, results analysis, and manual validation; and technologies such as SIEM systems, firewalls, and IDS/IPS. Preferred: Knowledge of operating systems, networks, cloud computing, hardware and software platforms, and protocols as they relate to information security. Preferred: Working knowledge of TCP/IP and network analysis tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump. Preferred: Familiarity with security frameworks and controls such as CMS ARC-AMPE, NIST, COBIT, and FedRAMP. Preferred: Experience or knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) tasks and artifacts integrated into the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Preferred: Knowledge of defense-in-depth principles, including secure system configuration, network segmentation, and malicious code protection. Preferred: Experience or knowledge of security for multi-tenant cloud services and vendor interface management. Preferred: Hands-on experience implementing, operating, and maintaining secure computer systems, software, hardware, and networks. Responsibilities: Support daily Security Operations Center (SOC) monitoring, including its tools and processes. Provide hands-on support for security tools and technologies, and monitor them for alerts, anomalies, and potential threats. Conduct targeted threat hunts to look for evidence of compromise. Investigate security incidents by gathering evidence and analyzing relevant data. Analyze anomalous activity and potential threats affecting connected resources. Support information security risk management and incident response activities. Assess information security solutions, processes, and controls. Help establish, implement, and improve information systems security and compliance efforts. Work with technical staff, leadership, business partners, vendors, and other stakeholders to mitigate security and compliance risks. Provide technical input for the design and implementation of secure IT systems and networks. Identify and address security risks and assist with responses to information security issues. Clearly communicate findings, work status, and relevant security processes to technical and business stakeholders.
