Remote Sensing Software Engineer

Salary: $84000 - 191000 per year Requirements: We are looking for 4+ years of experience in remote sensing, image processing, or GEOINT data exploitation We need experience designing, adapting, developing, writing, and implementing software applications using agile methods We require hands-on experience with Python and scientific Python libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, or xarray We are seeking experience with basic orbital mechanics We need experience using ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow We require experience working with large sensor datasets such as HDF5 or cloud object storage An active TS/SCI clearance is required, along with willingness to undergo a polygraph examination A bachelors degree in a STEM field is required Nice to have: experience administering CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes, Docker, or Jenkins Nice to have: experience with sensor phenomenology, radiometric calibration, or remote sensing interpretation Nice to have: experience with super-resolution, deblurring, spectral exploitation, or resolved feature extraction Nice to have: experience with uncertainty quantification, Kalman filtering, or tracking algorithms Nice to have: experience with AI-augmented development workflows or agentic tools Nice to have: experience with GitLab-based CI/CD workflows Nice to have: a masters degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field Responsibilities: We develop software tools for radiometric modeling and satellite observation geometry We implement imaging and signal-processing workflows, including motion compensation, multi-frame alignment, and super-resolution We build ML-enabled detection, anomaly identification, and object classification modules using operational EO/IR and synthetic datasets We design scientific Python pipelines, such as NumPy, OpenCV, Astropy, or SciPy, for both real-time and batch processing We support orbital modeling work, including SGP4, TLE ingestion, and basic pose estimation We carry out imagery preprocessing, including radiometric calibration, artifact correction, and multi-frame filtering We maintain reproducible environments using GitLab, containers, and experiment-tracking tools We collaborate with astrodynamics subject matter experts, operations personnel, and ML engineers to deliver integrated mission capabilities Technologies: AI CI/CD Cloud Docker GitLab Support Jenkins Kubernetes PyTorch Python TensorFlow numpy opencv Security More: We are Booz Allen and we bring together advanced imaging, physics-based modeling, and AI/ML to tackle some of the most challenging Space Domain Awareness and remote sensing problems.
