Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Salary: $74000 - 119000 per year Requirements: Bachelors Degree Minimum of 5 years, ideally 7-10+ years of Java development and backend engineering experience Experience in eCommerce is a significant advantage Proficient in Java with knowledge of at least one other backend and frontend programming language Skilled in enhancing legacy codebases Familiar with automated testing practices Strong understanding of microservices architecture Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Excellent communication skills due to a focus on teamwork Responsibilities: Act as the internal expert on backend architecture, establishing and enforcing standards Enhance the quality of our internal software by modernizing outdated components Manage reliability and performance by detecting bugs and issues, while improving user experience Mentor junior engineers, setting a strong example and sharing best practices Collaborate with various teams, particularly product and design, to clarify and successfully execute requirements Be an effective communicator and collaborator, engaging in code reviews and collective problem-solving across multiple time zones Technologies: AWS Backend CI/CD Docker Frontend Java Kubernetes microservices Cloud UX UI Design More: We are a global software organization with over 25 years of experience, headquartered in Boston, and with a presence in Europe.
