Principal Systems Engineer

Salary: $123,639 - 194,000 per year Requirements: We require U.S. citizenship because of the sensitivity of the customer environment. We require an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access and maintain it. We require a bachelors or masters degree. We require 20+ years of experience, including 12+ years of DoD-related experience. We require a strong background in systems engineering across the acquisition lifecycle. We require experience with DoD and USAF systems engineering. We require expertise in systems-of-systems architecture development. We require experience in mission integration and enterprise architecture. We require capability in requirements development and analysis. We require experience with Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM). We require knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation planning. We require familiarity with cloud-based systems, including cost and performance forecasting. We require experience applying Agile methods, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and DevOps principles. We require knowledge of systems acquisition and program management processes under DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5000.75. We may require travel depending on customer direction. Responsibilities: We provide systems engineering support throughout the acquisition lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture development to integration, sustainment, and disposal. We support Mission Integration Team activities by converting operational and functional needs into technical requirements. We take part in architecture definition efforts to strengthen integration and interoperability across the DAF Battle Network enterprise architecture. We review existing DoD architecture models and help develop future-state architectures that enable sensor-to-shooter connectivity. We drive interoperability and integration across Program Executive Offices, weapon systems, and mission partners. We perform capability risk assessments and help shape mitigation strategies with stakeholders. We support execution management planning and transition capability requirements to the acquisition community. We help develop test and evaluation strategies in coordination with acquisition and test organizations. We capture and assess current-state and future-state architectures shaped by mission and engagement scenarios. We engage with joint and coalition stakeholders to help build integrated multi-domain architectures. We document requirements for the DAF Battle Network Identity, Credential, and Access Management environment. We evaluate current ICAM solutions across DBN programs against established requirements. We identify preferred ICAM solutions and analyze capability gaps against documented requirements. We support development of Plans of Action and Milestones to close identified capability gaps. We draft and maintain ICAM strategy documentation and assist with implementation across participating programs. We prepare technical briefings, engineering documentation, reports, recommendations, and acquisition artifacts for Government leadership.
