Principal Systems Analyst

Salary: $137,280 - 139,360 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification. 9+ years of experience in systems analysis and project management. Hands-on software development experience. Experience with complex distributed systems, particularly trading systems. Experience with SDLC tools such as JIRA and Confluence, as well as collaboration tools. Experience creating architecture and system workflow diagrams using tools such as Visio or Draw.io. Background in data modeling and design. Experience using SQL and analyzing large datasets. Experience with applications in Linux or Unix environments, including user commands or scripting. Experience with cloud patterns and deployments, particularly AWS. Familiarity with AI developer-assistance tools such as GitHub Copilot. Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, and uDeploy. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively. Ability to understand complex end-to-end systems and identify performance, scalability, and resilience bottlenecks. Self-motivation, an innovative approach, and comfort working with leadership. Willingness to support production systems and application releases, including occasional weekend support. Experience in capital markets or brokerage systems, especially trading analytics, is a plus. KDB+/Q experience is a plus. Responsibilities: Become a subject matter expert on applications that deliver electronic trading analytics, and develop knowledge of the electronic trading domain. Represent the development team in conversations with business stakeholders and facilitate discussions about team initiatives. Understand application source code and technical details, and explain how systems work to non-technical audiences. Learn new technologies and use GenAI tools to help interpret and document source code. Create architectural and system workflow diagrams. Write KDB/Q queries, explore large datasets, and investigate business scenarios in the context of system architecture. Lead system design and translate business requirements into technical details in partnership with developers and product owners. Break down and manage developer and QA work items, including JIRA epics and stories. Support production and non-production environments and respond to inquiries from business support teams.
