Principal Software Infrastructure Engineer OCI Networking

Salary: $114,600 - 234,600 per year Requirements: We need you to be located within 50 miles of Nashville, TN, or willing to relocate there and work onsite in the Nashville office five days a week. We expect a BS or MS in Computer Science, a related technical discipline involving coding, or equivalent practical experience. You should bring 5+ years of overall software development experience. You should be proficient in writing strong code in Java, Go, C#, or similar object-oriented languages. You should have a track record of delivering products and working through the full software development lifecycle. You should have experience building and operating large-scale, highly distributed service infrastructure. You should have experience in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-one live-site support. You should bring a systematic approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, ownership, and drive. You should have experience designing architectures with deep technical expertise in one area or breadth across multiple products, supporting high availability, scalability, market-leading features, and future flexibility. Preferred: hands-on experience developing and maintaining services on a public cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle. Preferred: knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform. Preferred: strong understanding of databases, including SQL and NoSQL. Preferred: experience with Kafka, Apache Spark, and other big data technologies. Responsibilities: We design, architect, and build large-scale distributed systems that support rapid region builds and network orchestration across OCI. We develop services and frameworks that simplify complex networking challenges at scale. We collaborate across multiple teams within OCI to create unified, automated, and observable systems. We lead technical direction on high-impact initiatives, mentor engineers, and shape design reviews with simplicity and resilience in mind. We improve service reliability, latency, and operational automation through intelligent tooling, metrics, and self-healing systems. We partner with senior leadership to influence architectural strategy and guide OCIs region-build roadmap.
