Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: $130000 - 177000 per year Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering. We require 10–15 years of experience with a bachelors degree, or 7–10 years with a masters degree, in embedded software development or a closely related field. We expect strong embedded-target development and troubleshooting skills. We value hands-on experience with in-circuit emulators, JTAG debuggers, and laboratory test equipment. We need a solid understanding of operating system coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems. We look for knowledge of real-time software development. We expect excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. We need well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities. We value experience with software configuration management tools, defect tracking systems, and peer review processes. We expect strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines. We require excellent verbal and written communication skills. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, with clearance preferred. Responsibilities: We serve as a subject matter expert in embedded systems development across multiple technical disciplines. We independently assess customer needs and evaluate technical solutions for complex problems. We lead embedded systems development teams and provide both technical and management oversight. We identify program- and system-level technical risks and develop mitigation plans. We carry out additional duties as assigned. Technologies: Embedded Hardware Support Security C++ More: We develop complex, real-time embedded software for resource-constrained environments and support mission-critical systems from architecture and requirements analysis through implementation, evaluation, and release. Our work spans imaging systems, devices, process and vehicle controllers, and navigation and mapping systems across undersea, terrestrial, air, hypersonic, and space applications.
