PlatformOne Software Engineer

Salary: $95,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements: We require U.S. citizenship because of the sensitivity of our customer programs. We require an active Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to retain clearance eligibility. We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field plus at least 12 years of relevant experience; a masters degree plus at least 10 years of experience; or a PhD plus at least 7 years of experience. We look for experience designing, building, testing, and sustaining complex software systems, including work with PlatformOne. We look for experience supporting PlatformOne, Cloud One, Iron Bank, Big Bang, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Helm, or comparable DoD cloud and container platforms. We require a background in object-oriented development and modern software engineering methods. We require experience creating web-based applications, services, APIs, or enterprise software capabilities. We require experience using source control, issue tracking, automated build, and software configuration management tools. We require experience with secure software development, vulnerability remediation, or software assurance practices. We require the ability to work independently with broadly defined direction. We require the ability to provide technical guidance to engineers, managers, and customers. We require strong written and verbal communication skills. We require the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. We consider experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, automated testing, static analysis, vulnerability scanning, and secure release practices highly desirable. We prefer experience with Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, NodeJS, Python, C++, or similar languages and frameworks. We prefer experience with relational databases, SQL, data management, data integration, or enterprise service architectures. We prefer familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF, ATO support, STIGs, or classified deployment processes. We prefer experience modernizing legacy applications or migrating older systems to current architectures. We prefer experience supporting Air Force, DoD, Intelligence Community, or mission-planning software systems. We prefer experience working in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or similar development environments. We prefer experience creating technical documentation, user guides, briefings, and status reports. Responsibilities: We design, develop, test, integrate, and sustain software capabilities that support DoD mission systems. We modernize existing applications, services, and user interfaces using current engineering practices. We build and maintain software components using object-oriented and web-based technologies. We apply secure development practices, including code quality checks, vulnerability remediation, automated testing, and configuration control. We create, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and related software delivery workflows. We support containerized and cloud-enabled development environments when needed. We troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex software, integration, performance, and deployment issues. We collaborate with engineers, managers, cybersecurity personnel, and customers to define needs, evaluate technical options, and deliver mission-focused solutions. We provide technical direction to software engineers and promote disciplined development practices across the team. We prepare and maintain technical documentation, user materials, installation instructions, and status updates. We support software deployments, testing efforts, and operational sustainment in classified or controlled environments. We use initiative and sound judgment to solve difficult technical problems. We perform additional duties as needed.
