Life400 Developer

Qualifications and Requirements 4–5 years of experience in AS/400 or IBM i application development. Hands-on experience with Life/Asia and Life400 applications. Strong programming knowledge of COBOL/400 and CL/400. Proficiency in DB2/400 and SQL/400. Experience in application maintenance, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support. Understanding of software development life cycles, testing procedures, and change management. Experience in the life insurance domain is highly desirable. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting life insurance policy administration systems. Familiarity with IBM AS/400 (IBM i) environments and legacy application modernization. Knowledge of batch processing, job scheduling, and database performance optimization. Experience handling incident resolution and application enhancements in production environments. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance life insurance applications using Life/Asia and Life400 systems. Write, modify, test, and debug programs using COBOL/400 and CL/400. Develop and optimize database queries using SQL/400 and manage data using DB2/400. Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective application solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, production issues, and system performance problems. Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing. Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver application enhancements and fixes. Maintain technical documentation, program specifications, and system support records. Support system releases, deployments, and ongoing maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with coding standards, development procedures, and established quality practices.
