Unlimited opportunities for employee referral incentives across the organization Standard government and Emapta benefits Total of 20 annual leaves to be used on your own discretion (including 5 credits convertible to cash) Fun engagement activities for employees Mentorship and exposure to global leaders and teams Career growth opportunities Diverse and supportive work environment Qualifications Essential At least 5 years of experience in network and systems engineering, including at least 2 years at Level 3 or senior level, ideally with a managed services provider supporting Australian or other Western clients Hands-on experience with UniFi and at least 1 of the following: Meraki or FortiGate Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Hyper-V Level 2 or higher proficiency in Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune Familiarity with unified communications systems Experience directing onsite technicians remotely Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Regular use of AI tools in daily work Desirable Relevant certification, such as CCNA, Fortinet NSE, or UniFi Experience with Datto BCDR and NinjaOne Working knowledge of VMware and Linux Personal Attributes Methodical approach to planning, documenting, and implementing changes Calm approach during cutover nights and clear communication with onsite technicians Accountability for resolving problems, with early communication when progress is blocked Responsibilities Escalations Resolve escalated network, server, storage, and backup tickets that the support desk cannot close. Write a knowledge base article for every recurring fix. Network and Infrastructure Design and configure UniFi, Meraki, and FortiGate networks, including VLANs, network segregation, Wi-Fi, site-to-site VPNs, client VPNs, and NetBird. Manage servers and virtualization environments, including Hyper-V, VMware, RAID configurations, and domain controllers, and resolve hardware failures. Fine-tune NinjaOne monitoring to trigger alerts when devices go offline. Cutovers and Projects Plan and execute site cutovers remotely using an approved written runsheet, an onsite technician to perform physical tasks, and a rollback plan. Write runsheets and knowledge base articles that Level 2 technicians can follow. Microsoft 365 Support Coverage Provide backup support for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune escalations when the Technical Services Lead is on leave or at capacity. Backup Assurance Manage backup assurance across Datto BCDR, Ninja Backup, and SaaS backup platforms, verifying that restores work rather than only confirming that backup jobs run. Success Measures Resolve network and server escalations without further escalation after 3 months. Ensure every cutover has an approved runsheet and rollback plan, with no unplanned outage at go-live. Complete a tested restore for every backed-up client on an established cadence. Implement device-down alerting across all clients within 3 months. Publish a knowledge base article for every recurring fix. First 6 Months Learn client networks, runbooks, and tools, and handle escalations alongside the Technical Services Lead. Assume responsibility for network and server escalations, execute initial cutovers with approved runsheets, and establish the restore-testing cadence. Resolve escalations without further escalation, ensure device-down alerting is in place across clients, and manage cutovers from planning through completion. Perform the full scope of the role independently.
