The Role As a Lead Product Designer, you'll own a pillar of the Vantage Compute experience: its impact, quality, and craft end to end, and a leading voice in shaping its roadmap, not just executing against a brief. You'll always be thinking past the edges of your pillar, since your decisions need to stay coherent with the rest of the product. You'll act as a leading thought partner to your product and engineering counterparts, and help raise the quality of the design team's work through your practice, the feedback you give, and the standards you hold. We're looking for someone with strong product judgment, deep design craft, and the ability to lift the work of the designers around them. Remote: Candidates must permanently and currently reside in the United States. Employees are not required to work in the office or relocate to Lincoln, Nebraska, for this opportunity. Employees are encouraged to come hang out at headquarters for up to 10 days per calendar year on Vantage Compute 's dime. What You'll Do Lead foundational product design across the core product, shaping workflows, information architecture, and experience coherence as the product evolves. Design high-quality, intuitive experiences that simplify complexity while maintaining consistency across an evolving product ecosystem, including new agentic and AI-driven surfaces. Use design to shape product priorities, scope, and strategic decisions, extending influence far beyond execution. Actively explore and integrate AI tools into your process to work smarter, faster, and with more insight. Mentor designers through clear feedback, strong craft and design rationale, and visible practice that sharpens decision-making, strengthens judgment, and improves both team process and product outcomes. Work in tight partnership with product managers and engineering teams to plan, prioritize, and ship. Raising the quality, judgment, and consistency of the broader design team through mentorship, leadership, and visible excellence in your own work. What You'll Bring Core Requirements (non-negotiable) 7+ years of product design experience, including time operating at a senior or lead level. Strong mobile and web product design experience, preferably in SaaS or similar experiences with complex and varied user personas Proven ability to lead high-impact design work in ambiguous or foundational product areas, not just feature execution. Deep expertise in UX, systems thinking, and workflow design, with the ability to maintain coherence across complex product ecosystems. Demonstrated track record of raising design quality and mentoring a growing team Strong ability to balance long-term product vision with rapid, iterative execution that drives learning while maintaining product cohesion. AI-native mindset, with genuine enthusiasm for designing agentic and AI-powered experiences. Skepticism is fine; fear or negativity toward AI is a mismatch for this role.
