About the role

Lead .NET development efforts, focusing on infrastructure migrations and cloud transitions.

Salary: $104,000 - 144,000 per year Requirements: 10+ years of hands-on .NET development experience. Strong knowledge of .NET Framework 3.5/4.x, ASP.NET WebForms, ASPX, IIS, configuration management, session-state internals, and legacy UI frameworks. Experience with .NET Remoting or comparable legacy integration technologies. Strong SQL Server skills, including database analysis, performance optimization, and deployment automation. Proven experience delivering infrastructure migrations, platform upgrades, or cloud transitions; working knowledge of AWS services, networking, connectivity models, and cloud costs. Experience with CI/CD and deployment tools such as Octopus Deploy, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms. Ability to analyze decompiled code and troubleshoot complex systems with limited documentation. Experience with application deployment, environment promotion, production cutovers, and rollback planning. Demonstrated ownership of legacy applications and enterprise platforms through compliance initiatives, operating system upgrades, security remediation, or audit programs. Strong code review practices and sound technical judgment under delivery and operational constraints. Excellent written communication skills, including technical decision documents, acceptance criteria, specifications, and Jira-ready backlogs. Proven ability to drive infrastructure and operational dependencies to completion through collaboration, issue resolution, and escalation. Experience developing and presenting phased modernization strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to balance hands-on development with architectural ownership, problem-solving, and delivery accountability. Preferred: Experience with internal enterprise frameworks, WebForms platforms, and client scheduling environments. Preferred: Security remediation experience, including SQL injection, CSRF, XSS, dependency management, and SAST/SCA findings. Preferred: Experience evaluating Angular and .NET API solutions or Python-based integration and batch-processing architectures as modernization options. Preferred: Experience modernizing legacy applications and integrating enterprise workloads with AWS services. Responsibilities: Own the technical direction, stability, and delivery of ATDB.Web and its seven supporting services, including five client-scheduled batch jobs, the Import Service, and the Notification Response Service. Make and explain key technical decisions, including build-versus-buy, remediation-versus-rebuild, and migration sequencing, while meeting timelines and governance requirements. Serve as the primary technical escalation point; resolve complex issues and identify blockers, dependencies, and ownership. Contribute directly to development, code reviews, troubleshooting, and architecture decisions. Analyze and document legacy ASP.NET WebForms applications, including source code, decompiled assemblies, .NET Remoting, session management, configuration, and legacy user interfaces. Validate system behavior and infrastructure configurations using deployment tools, monitoring platforms, and available documentation; translate findings into specifications, acceptance criteria, and QA and business test scenarios. Lead low-risk, minimal-change operating system and infrastructure migrations that meet compliance deadlines and minimize regression risk. Assess on-premises and AWS hosting options for connectivity, performance, deployment compatibility, cost, and operational risk. Manage deployment and promotion across environments, including infrastructure provisioning, network changes, DNS updates, and scheduler reconfiguration; create, test, and maintain cutover and rollback procedures. Coordinate with infrastructure and operations teams to resolve migration dependencies and preserve system availability. Develop stabilization plans and longer-term modernization roadmaps, distinguishing essential deliverables from deferred enhancements. Identify opportunities for API enablement, cloud-native services, application rebuilds, and AWS integrations; organize initiatives into prioritized Jira backlogs with dependencies, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans. Incorporate technical debt, security concerns, and audit findings into modernization plans, balancing business continuity, delivery schedules, and legacy constraints. Conduct code reviews focused on maintainability, security, architectural alignment, and operational risk; define and uphold engineering standards across legacy and modern environments. Lead SAST and SCA remediation, addressing vulnerabilities, dependency risks, and code quality issues during migration and modernization. Partner with Infrastructure and Operations on provisioning, networking, DataPower, DNS, and certificate management; work with DevSecOps on pipelines, secrets, certificate rotation, and security scanning. Engage Architecture, Security, and SRE teams early; clarify ownership and execution responsibilities with shared-platform teams. Communicate plans, risks, dependencies, decisions, and timelines to engineering leadership, project management, and PMO stakeholders. Identify automation, consolidation, operational efficiency, and cost-optimization opportunities; align overlapping initiatives and recommend improvements to deployment, reliability, and application support.
