Lead AI Engineer, AI Foundations

Salary: $205000 - 255000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus a minimum of 4 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Masters degree in those fields with at least 2 years of relevant experience. A minimum of 4 years of programming experience in languages such as Python, Go, Scala, or Java. 6 years of experience implementing scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud) is preferred. Experience in designing, developing, delivering, and supporting AI services is a plus. Familiarity with developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies using languages such as Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang is desired. Experience in using state-of-the-art techniques for enhancing training and inference software to improve hardware efficiency, decrease latency, enhance throughput, and manage costs. Responsibilities: Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to develop AI-driven products that transform associate workflows and customer interactions with Nimbus Data Systems. Design, implement, test, launch, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability. Utilize a wide range of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies, including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch. Innovate and deploy cutting-edge LLM optimization methods to enhance the performance, scalability, cost-efficiency, latency, and throughput of large-scale production AI systems. Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy for foundational AI systems at Nimbus Data Systems.
