Information Systems Security Engineer

Salary: $105000 - 162000 per year Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity or information assurance Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities Solid grasp of RMF, NIST 1000-53 and systems security engineering principles Hands-on experience with security platforms such as ACAS, Nessus, SCC, and Splunk Working knowledge of system hardening, encryption, access management, and network security Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences Strong understanding of DoD standards and compliance obligations Relevant certification such as CISSP, CASP+, CEH, Security+, or another DoD 8140-related credential Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility U.S. citizenship required Preferred: 10+ years of cybersecurity or information assurance experience Preferred: Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field Preferred: Experience with Kubernetes and container-based architectures Preferred: Prior customer-facing or consulting experience Responsibilities: Design and implement security architectures for information systems Ensure security designs support business goals, compliance needs, and industry standards Perform risk assessments, uncover weaknesses, and recommend remediation plans Build security controls into the system development lifecycle Partner with software developers, network engineers, and system administrators to maintain secure configurations Deploy encryption, firewalls, and other protective technologies Ensure alignment with standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and FISMA Prepare materials for security certifications, audits, and compliance reviews Monitor systems for adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements Create and maintain security documentation, including SOPs, POA&Ms, and configuration management records Lead remediation efforts for audit findings and vulnerabilities following IAVM best practices Support and coordinate vulnerability assessments Collaborate with IT teams, leadership, and external vendors to validate security measures Assist cross-functional teams during compliance assessments such as CMMC and DCSA Explain security risks and mitigation strategies to non-technical stakeholders Technologies: Support Kubernetes Network Security Splunk More: We are BCubed Engineering, an Meridian Softworks company, an advanced software and engineering organization focused on delivering solutions centered on end-user needs.
