GIS Applications Analyst (Developer)

We are looking for an experienced GIS Applications Analyst to join a long-term international project delivered for a European Union Agency based in Warsaw . The successful candidate will support a GIS team responsible for the development, integration, optimization, and maintenance of geospatial applications and services. The role combines expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise, web application development, GIS service integration, and geospatial technologies to support situational awareness, data visualization, and decision-making processes. The project focuses on the collection, preparation, integration, analysis, and dissemination of geospatial information through advanced GIS platforms, web applications, and geospatial services used by multiple stakeholders in an international environment. Responsibilities: Support daily configuration and management of web mapping applications and GIS services . Design, publish, maintain, and optimize GIS services hosted on ArcGIS Serve r. Develop, customize, and enhance geospatial applications using ArcGIS technologies . Create and maintain geo-catalogues of maps, datasets, and geospatial applications. Integrate GIS services with business applications and enterprise systems. Contribute to and validate web map dictionaries, taxonomies, and metadata structures. Customize ArcGIS Portal applications that help users visualize and analyse geospatial data for decision-making purposes. Develop geospatial applications using ArcGIS Experience Builder (Developer Edition) and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript . Create and optimize geospatial processes, tools, and workflows based on user requirements . Develop and maintain Python-based geoprocessing scripts and automation solutions . Provide occasional support for geoprocessing tools developed in Python and C# . Maintain application code and technical documentation within Microsoft Azure DevOps / TFS repositories . Participate in project meetings and collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders. Required Competencies: Strong expertise in Enterprise GIS environments and ArcGIS technologies. Experience integrating GIS services with applications and enterprise systems. Ability to develop and optimize geospatial applications and GIS services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-changing technological environment. Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within international teams. Technical Requirements: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT (excluding academic studies). Minimum 5 years of experience in GIS Application Development, ArcGIS Development, Geospatial Software Engineering, or a similar role . Bachelor's Degree or higher in Geography, Geoinformatics, GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. English proficiency at minimum B2 level . A language certificate is required. Candidates who do not hold a valid certificate will be required to successfully pass a language audit/assessment prior to onboarding. Strong hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, geo-catalogues, metadata management, and GIS web services . Practical experience with ArcGIS Experience Builder (Developer Edition), ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, ArcGIS REST API, and OGC services . Development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, Angular, Vite, and Web Components . Programming experience with Python, ArcGIS API for Python, ArcPy, and C# . Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps or TFS, application lifecycle management, technical documentation, and code maintenanc e. Certifications: no mandatory certification is explicitly required. Relevant GIS, ArcGIS, geospatial, software development, or cloud-related certifications will be considered an advantage. Equivalent certifications may be accepted if their scope and training content can be demonstrated. EU citizenship (mandatory) . Before joining the project, candidates will be required to provide a valid criminal record certificate issued no more than six months prior to the onboarding date. Contract Details: Contract Type: B2B contract with Shimi Delivery Mode: Hybrid / (approximately 40% presence in the Warsaw office) - to be determined with the manager. Candidate Rate: 230–250 EUR/MD net + VAT (negotiable) Planned Start Date: August or September, or within a maximum of one month after signing the offer.
