Firmware Engineer

Salary: $74000 - 120000 per year Requirements: We require a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline. We look for hands-on experience developing drivers, especially within Linux kernel environments. We need strong C programming expertise for Linux kernel-level development. We value a solid grasp of Linux networking internals, including netdev, NAPI, sk_buff, and ethtool operations. We require familiarity with 1G and 10G Ethernet MAC/PHY interfaces and PCIe basics, including DMA engines and descriptor rings. We prefer candidates who can work independently, solve complex issues, and adapt well in a collaborative setting. Responsibilities: We lead the design, development, and upkeep of Linux kernel Ethernet drivers for 1G and 10G interfaces. We implement comprehensive ethtool functionality, including metrics, diagnostics, and hardware offload capabilities. We build and refine link management features such as auto-negotiation, PHY setup, and fault identification. We develop PCIe driver elements, including probe and remove routines, interrupt processing, and resource initialization. We perform performance testing and benchmarking to ensure alignment with IEEE 802.3 standards and Linux kernel coding practices. We contribute to high-performance Ethernet and networking solutions as part of our engineering team.
