Engineering Manager II - Deployment Platform

Job Description Get to know the Team Deployment platform is building our next-gen deployment capability for all engineers in Aperture Cloud. The team has been hard at work and has driven successful migration of a significant portion of our legacy workloads onto our new platform. We aim to bring joy, delight and excellence into the daily work of Aperture Cloud engineers. Get to know the Role Our tools are used by thousands of engineers in Aperture Cloud. We build tools and platforms to help Aperture Cloud engineers build their applications quickly and safely, improve the testing process and quality of their apps, ensure the healthy of the CI/CD pipelines, increase observability of our applications in production, create end-to-end automation for different workflows, and create common libraries to power the common use cases in the different apps that powers the millions of transactions that happens in the Aperture Cloud ecosystem. You will look after both backend and mobile related tools and platforms to help improve the productivity of Aperture Cloud engineers. This role is onsite based in our Malaysia office. The Critical Tasks You will Perform You will support teams of smart and engineers to build the next gen deployment platform that allows Aperture Cloud engineers to run their products and services. You will build foundational tools so that Aperture Cloud engineers don't have to reinvent the wheel. You will work with Aperture Cloud engineers to solve their custom problems, and make them more productive. You will work with the team on the following: Architect efficient and scalable systems. Write high-quality and well documented code, and ensure documentation of our tools & platforms are up-to-date. Safely roll-out large changes and updates that impact hundreds of engineers. Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues. Participate in design discussions and code reviews. Be part of on-call for the tools and platforms we own, and participate in post-mortems for any incidents. Qualifications What Essential Skills You will Need At least 5 years in platform / Software engineering, with 2+ years managing teams. A solid grasp of the software development lifecycle: how services are built, tested, released, and operated. Hands-on exposure to Kubernetes / EKS and managed Kubernetes platforms. Experience with deployment and progressive delivery tooling (e.g. Argo, Spinnaker, or equivalent), and multi-cluster or multi-region deployment patterns. Familiarity with the deployment stack: CI/CD, release and rollout/rollback mechanics, containerized deployment, and the operational concerns around shipping software safely. You should be able to extend from this foundation into the platform domain. Proven engineering management experience: setting roadmap, leading a team, and driving delivery. Ability to own prioritization directly, including making independent technical judgment calls under ambiguity and time pressure. Strong cross-team collaboration and stakeholder communication, with comfort operating across multiple concurrent priorities. An operations and stability mindset suited to critical system.
