Embedded Software Technical Lead

Salary: $95,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements: U.S. citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements. A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar engineering field, plus 12 years of experience. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Familiarity with leading projects through the full software development life cycle (SDLC). Strong knowledge of programming languages such as C++, C#, or C, and experience developing build scripts for software releases. Strong Linux skills, including command-line use, networking, administration, and cybersecurity. Proficiency with Git and the Atlassian tool suite (Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence) or similar tools such as GitLab. Understanding of requirements management and experience using DOORS to maintain requirements. Experience developing software architectures and detailed software designs that support modularity, commonality, and reuse. Experience designing and integrating software with middleware, real-time operating systems, drivers, and component hardware. Experience with architectural development using SysML and/or UML. Experience with formal software verification and designing software with potential test automation in mind. Experience with configuration management and software repository branching strategies. Experience conducting peer reviews. Clear written and verbal communication skills, the ability to investigate issues, and the ability to mentor junior engineers. A friendly, engaging manner. Responsibilities: Lead and participate in defining software requirements, designing and implementing software, testing it, and installing integrated software solutions on combat and tactical vehicle systems. Evaluate and identify system and software solutions for Army ground vehicle requirements and challenges. Lead project sustainment across multiple software configuration items (CSCIs) under development. Collaborate with other software leads and functional groups to define project scope, reconcile differing perspectives, and reach consensus based on requirements. Work with government customers to professionally clarify scope adjustments and communicate team limitations. Coordinate work through an issue-tracking system, track scope, and support engineers with feature development and bug resolution. Establish and maintain the software development environment and software branch strategies.
