Director, Cybersecurity Regulatory Engagement

Salary: $116,000 - 246,000 per year Requirements: 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity, technology risk, governance, audit, controls, or related technology disciplines. Extensive experience with regulatory engagements, risk management, audit, or compliance in a large, complex, highly regulated organization. Proven experience leading regulatory examinations, supervisory interactions, or other regulatory engagements. Experience working in a First Line of Defense (1LOD) role. Ability to operate effectively with senior leaders and executives. Strong understanding of cybersecurity risk management, control frameworks, and regulatory expectations for financial institutions. Ability to turn complex technical and risk topics into clear, defensible regulatory narratives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience engaging regulators and senior executives. Strong judgment, executive presence, and ability to influence without direct authority. Ability to manage multiple high-stakes regulatory engagements simultaneously under pressure. Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end cybersecurity regulatory engagements, including examinations, supervisory meetings, remediation activities, and requests for information. Coordinate with global cybersecurity process owners, control owners, subject matter experts, and partners across Engineering Controls, Technology Risk, Internal Audit, and other functions to deliver accurate, consistent, regulator-ready responses. Promote risk-aware culture through disciplined First Line of Defense execution. Coordinate input from control owners, subject matter experts, and technical teams to develop high-quality regulatory submissions. Set expectations for clear, accurate, consistent cybersecurity regulatory responses; review, challenge, and approve key responses for alignment with the firms cybersecurity posture and risk appetite. Help maintain a centralized regulatory response repository, using AI-enabled capabilities to improve quality, consistency, and reuse. Prepare executive briefings, materials, and talking points for senior management, committees, and boards. Provide cybersecurity leadership with status updates and analysis, and maintain regulatory engagement tracking, documentation, and artifacts in line with governance standards. Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to supporting team members. Improve regulatory engagement playbooks, job aids, and execution routines; support reporting and metrics on regulatory risk, themes, and engagement status. Support the design, implementation, and assessment of controls addressing regulatory expectations, and contribute to First Line of Defense risk and control taxonomies. Identify control gaps, thematic issues, and systemic risks arising from regulatory engagements, and partner with control owners to drive remediation.
