Database Administrator IV

Salary: $92,000 - 132,000 per year Requirements: We require an associate degree or equivalent practical experience. We are looking for at least 4 years of database administration experience. We need strong hands-on expertise with at least one enterprise RDBMS, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL. We expect experience with performance tuning and query optimization. We require familiarity with backup and recovery planning and execution. We need a solid understanding of database security, access management, and controls. We value strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities. We prefer experience in federal or other regulated environments. We prefer exposure to multiple database platforms. We prefer scripting experience, such as T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar languages. We prefer experience supporting high-availability database environments. Responsibilities: We administer and support enterprise database platforms, including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and similar systems. We monitor database performance, uptime, and overall system health. We tune databases, improve indexing, and optimize queries for better efficiency. We manage backups, restorations, and disaster recovery activities. We implement and uphold database security measures. We assist application teams with database-related incidents and requests. We perform database patching, upgrades, and migration activities. We investigate and resolve performance slowdowns and technical issues. We maintain database records, configurations, and standard operating procedures. We support audits, compliance efforts, and reporting needs. We collaborate with system, network, and application teams to support integrated operations.
