Data Engineer

Salary: $95,000 - 118,500 per year Requirements: Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or data analytics At least 3 years of advanced SQL and data analysis experience, with a strong understanding of relational database concepts At least 2 years of experience with Linux command-line tools and scripting At least 3 years of Python development experience, with expert-level proficiency At least 1 year of experience with big data processing frameworks and tools Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery Proficiency in SQL, Python, Linux shell scripting, and data modeling Solid knowledge of data modeling techniques and the ability to analyze source systems and transform data for target models Experience with large-scale data warehouses (10+ TB) and high-volume ETL/ELT workloads (50M+ records per day) Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end technical solutions in enterprise BI or data warehousing environments Experience tuning and optimizing performance across data delivery pipelines, from ingestion through analytics Experience migrating data in various formats, including JSON, delimited files, APIs, and real-time feeds, into Google BigQuery is strongly preferred Experience working in a Scrum or Agile environment and with tools such as Jira Preferred: experience with a data science workbench or machine learning development environment Preferred: familiarity with data engineering for machine learning pipelines, including data preparation, splitting, feature engineering, and scoring Responsibilities: Partner with stakeholders across product, architecture, development, business intelligence, and executive teams Analyze data from multiple sources and develop ways to integrate it into our enterprise data ecosystem Build automated pipelines to ingest and process structured and unstructured data using batch and streaming patterns and cloud-native tools Work with diverse datasets and technologies to identify cross-system correlations, patterns, and data relationships Build, schedule, and monitor data pipeline orchestrations Automate processes to optimize compute and storage usage across our cloud data platform Develop and improve monitoring and observability for our cloud-based data platforms Support knowledge sharing, cross-training, and team-member onboarding Provide stakeholders with regular updates on progress, risks, and deliverables Participate in daily Scrum meetings and contribute to our Agile development environment Stay current with emerging data warehousing and analytics trends and technologies, particularly in retail Technologies: Big Data BigQuery Business Intelligence Cloud ETL Support JIRA JSON Linux Machine Learning Python SQL Ada GCP More: Join Family Dollars Data & Analytics Delivery Organization as a Data Engineer during a major company transformation, where data-driven insights support customer experience.
