Data Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Data & Infrastructure Automation Engineer with strong expertise in AWS, Matillion, DataOps, and Infrastructure as Code to design, build, and scale highly automated data platform solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and build automation to onboard new customers into the data platform using AWS and Matillion . Develop and maintain service APIs to integrate systems and automate processes. Apply Data Mesh principles to deliver scalable and decentralized data solutions. Act as a Solutions Architect for Data , DataOps , and API integrations. Automate and manage large AWS environments using Terraform , Jenkins , CI/CD pipelines , and APIs . Own and continuously improve core data products. Collaborate with international, cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business needs. Ensure cloud platforms meet high standards of performance, security, reliability, and cost efficiency. Promote and apply CI/CD best practices across data and infrastructure. Provide technical training and mentor engineers. Act as a hands-on Tech Lead and technical reference, influencing architecture and technology choices. Required Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in large-scale production environments Advanced expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) Proven experience with Matillion for cloud-based data transformation Solid background in Data Engineering and DataOps practices Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins) Proficiency in Python for automation and integration Experience with Snowflake and modern cloud data warehouses Practical experience implementing or supporting Data Mesh architectures Strong understanding of automation, monitoring, and cloud cost optimization Soft Skills & Leadership Strong communication skills for working with distributed, international teams Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability Passion for automation, innovation, and engineering best practices Experience sharing knowledge through training, mentoring, and documentation Nice to Have Experience in product-oriented data platforms Exposure to Agile / Scrum methodologies Prior participation in award-winning or large-scale transformation initiatives Background in platform engineering or internal developer platforms
