About the Team This role sits within Meridian Softworks Dealer Services (ADS), on a growing and evolving Data Team that partners closely with business leaders to drive growth, improve profitability, and reduce losses. The team operates in a highly collaborative, global model - working closely with U.S.-based business partners, AORs, and a data team in India. Role Overview The Data & Business Analyst is responsible for supporting business decision-making through data analysis, reporting, and business process improvement. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering requirements, analyzing data, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking with business acumen and has a desire to develop both technical data skills and consulting capabilities. This role provides exposure to business operations, analytics, reporting, process optimization, and product initiatives. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis Partner with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities. Gather, document, and clarify business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions. Lead initiatives in defining KPIs, metrics, and success measures for business initiatives. Support process improvement efforts by identifying operational inefficiencies and recommending solutions. Create business requirement documents, user stories, process flows, and presentations. Data Analysis & Reporting Extract, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to answer business questions. Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports using tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Monitor business and operational performance metrics and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities. Conduct root-cause analysis to support decision-making and problem resolution. Present findings and recommendations in a clear, business-friendly manner. Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with business leaders, product owners, technology teams, and operations partners. Participate in project meetings, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions. Support implementation and adoption of data-driven solutions. Communicate project status, risks, and analytical findings to stakeholders. Data Governance & Quality Validate data accuracy and investigate data quality issues. Document metric definitions, business rules, and reporting logic. Support data governance initiatives and ensure consistency across reporting solutions. Qualifications Required: 5-10 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, reporting, or a related field. Basic proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis. Experience with Excel and reporting/visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to translate data into meaningful business insights. Preferred Experience with Python, R, or other analytical tools. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management concepts. Strong foundation in statistical analysis and hypothesis testing. Experience creating dashboards and executive reporting. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of data modeling, databases, or cloud analytics platforms.
