Design and implement RMF cybersecurity requirements for satellite systems and communications links.
Salary: $93000 - 173000 per year Requirements: We require an active Top Secret clearance with SCI at the time of application, and a transfer of TS clearance is needed for the start date. We require U.S. citizenship. We are seeking a BS in engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering, for Level 2 with 2 years of experience or a Masters with no experience; equivalent experience may substitute for the degree. For Level 3, we seek a BS in engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering, with 5 years of experience or a Masters with 3 years of experience; equivalent experience may substitute for the degree. We require at least 2 years of Cyber/SSE experience, ideally in the defense aerospace sector. We expect experience with DISA STIG hardening practices, including documenting deviations and mitigations. We expect experience with vulnerability scanning, remediation, mitigation, and reporting using audit reduction tools, ACAS, or Tenable Nessus. We require experience implementing the RMF process from system categorization through continuous monitoring. We value strong technical documentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior program leaders. Preferred qualifications include a BS in Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering, an MS in Electrical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering, current CISSP-ISSEP or CISSP-ISSAP certification, 7 years of IA/cybersecurity experience with at least 3 years in the SAP community, and experience hardening Docker containers. Responsibilities: We work as part of an integrated product team to design, implement, and satisfy RMF cybersecurity, cyber resilience, and cyber survivability requirements for satellite systems, communications links, and ground command and control systems. We manage system security engineering requirements in support of program protection and decompose system-level controls into technical performance requirements across disciplines such as anti-tamper, TEMPEST, cybersecurity, and cryptographic integration. We perform attack surface analysis and develop security documentation, including system security plans, risk assessment reports, security control traceability matrices, security assessment procedures, and POA&Ms. We implement and maintain COTS security tools such as firewalls, antivirus, two-factor authentication, and SIEM solutions in terrestrial environments. We support the hardening and secure implementation of space vehicle embedded processors and flight software, including real-time operating systems and secure coding practices. We prepare and execute assessment procedures to verify compliance with customer and mission security and survivability requirements across commercial, federal civilian, DoD, intelligence, and special access programs. We support Agile engineering activities, including triaging static code analysis findings and helping prioritize them in the software development backlog. We participate in system engineering, assembly, integration, and test efforts for security-critical components such as cross-domain solutions, cryptographic devices, and controlled interfaces. We securely deploy mission-unique software in cloud and highly virtualized environments, prepare certification-to-field procedures, and execute test cases for customer cybersecurity review. We interface with customer representatives to support cyber test and evaluation activities and help meet key program milestones. We perform vulnerability scanning, remediation, and patch management on Windows, Red Hat, and various COTS/GOTS applications in virtualized and cloud environments. We update standard operating procedures and carry out patch installation, flaw remediation, antivirus updates, and continuous monitoring as needed. We ensure systems are operated, maintained, and retired in accordance with security policies and the approved system security authorization package.
