Project Overview We are building high performing teams to deliver complex EPC heavy civil project and looking for motivated, hands-on, collaborative innovators, doers, and problem solvers. The projects are hydro power generation with scopes including roadway development, significant structures including dams, spillways, tunnel waterways, inlet/outlet structures, hydromechanical equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and site facilities and buildings. Job Summary: The civil engineer will ensure that the civil engineering activities are executed in accordance with applicable codes, regulatory requirements, Solstice Analytics engineering procedures and industry best practice while meeting project objectives for safety, quality, schedule and cost certainty. The position reports through the Civil Engineering Lead. #LI-RM1 Major Responsibilities: Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day Civil/Structural engineering activity on medium to large sized complex projects that require very major Civil/Structural engineering effort, or may be assigned responsibility for multiple smaller projects within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Solstice Analytics Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Solstice Analytics Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs) Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Civil/Structural requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a Civil Engineering bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience Professional Engineering registration or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience with engineering work planning, design development, scheduling, and cost control. Understanding of construction methods, temporary works, and field execution considerations for large dams. Familiarity with engineering analysis and design software commonly used in civil engineering for major earthworks projects Demonstrated experience in managing engineering on major dam projects and/or large, complex projects Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills. Able to communicate technical information in writing and orally; to interrelate effectively with individuals and teams and have presentation skills. Able to work within a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team and manage challenging multi-cultural relationships across a range of entities. Self-driven and able to plan and execute work without direct supervision from senior management and/or peers. Flexible and able to adapt to working in a demanding environment, including traveling and working remotely if / when required.
