Business Intelligence Developer

Salary: $97000 - 122000 per year Requirements: We require post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline. We require 5–7 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a similar field. We require advanced expertise in T-SQL and relational databases. We require strong knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL workflows. We require hands-on experience with Power BI, including Power BI Service, Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and administration. We require experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, OneLake, and Notebooks, or an equivalent platform. We require intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. We require fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written. We require strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities. We require successful completion of employment, credit, criminal, education, reference, and verification checks before hire. We consider French bilingualism an asset. We consider scripting experience with Python, PySpark, or R an asset. We consider experience with Cognos v11.x, including Framework Manager, Report Studio, administration, and Motio PI/CI, an asset. We consider experience with IBM iSeries and DB2 an asset. We consider fluent French communication skills an asset. Responsibilities: We partner with business stakeholders to design analytics solutions using Power BI and other BI technologies. We translate business needs into practical and effective business intelligence solutions. We design, build, and deploy reporting frameworks and data visualization tools. We maintain and support analytics and reporting systems to keep them reliable and high performing. We monitor BI platform performance, manage user access, and support scalability of the environment. We assess existing BI systems and implement improvements and upgrades where needed. We manage development ticket queues with attention to quality, troubleshooting, and timely delivery. We perform unit testing, debugging, and quality assurance on analytics outputs. We carry out advanced data analysis using T-SQL or PySpark, ETL processes, and data pipelines. We develop data models that improve processing efficiency and data accessibility. We turn data findings into strategic insights and actionable recommendations. We provide technical leadership and mentoring as a subject matter expert to the analytics team. We evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to tools, architecture, and processes. We support cross-functional initiatives through data-driven decision-making. We create and maintain technical documentation and deliver training to end users. We complete other duties as assigned.
