Business Analyst - Investment Systems

Sydney or Brisbane | Contract Opportunity | Hybrid Working – 50% WFH About the opportunity An established financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Investment Systems to support a significant program of investment technology and business transformation. This is an opportunity to work across a complex investment systems environment, helping to review, optimise and enhance the platforms, processes and data integrations that underpin investment operations. Working closely with investment, technology and business stakeholders, you'll play a key role in translating business requirements into practical technology solutions and supporting improvements across the broader investment ecosystem. Key responsibilities Engage with investment, finance and technology stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business requirements. Review existing investment platforms, workflows and integrations to identify gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Support investment systems transformation and platform optimisation initiatives. Develop business requirements documentation, process maps, functional specifications and data flow diagrams. Analyse data flows and integration requirements across investment platforms and downstream systems. Work closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into system enhancements and integration solutions. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), including test planning, execution and issue resolution. Conduct impact assessments and support the implementation of changes to investment systems and processes. Manage stakeholder expectations and provide clear communication throughout project delivery. Support continuous improvement initiatives across investment operations and technology. About you We're particularly interested in speaking with Business Analysts who bring a combination of strong analysis capabilities and practical experience within investment management or financial services. Ideally, you'll offer: Demonstrated Business Analyst experience within investment management, superannuation, asset management or financial services. A sound understanding of investment operations, investment systems and associated business processes. Experience working with investment platforms, portfolio management systems, market data solutions or investment reporting environments. Exposure to platforms such as FactSet, Sage or Matrix would be advantageous. Strong requirements gathering, process mapping and documentation skills. Experience analysing data flows, system integrations and complex technology environments. Ability to engage confidently with investment professionals, business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. Experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, UAT and business change. Familiarity with Agile and traditional project delivery methodologies. SQL or data analysis experience would be beneficial. Previous experience working directly with investment teams and understanding how investment data moves between platforms will be particularly valuable.
