Business Analyst (AS400)

Job Description: AS400 Business Analyst Job Title: Business Analyst – AS400 / GDS Experience: As per business requirements Location: Kochi, Kerala Work Mode: Work from Office Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented Business Analyst with hands-on knowledge of GDS platforms, preferably Amadeus, and familiarity with travel-related applications and business processes. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in requirements documentation, defect tracking, and cross-functional collaboration, along with a basic understanding of AS400 systems. Key Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, functional specifications, and process workflows. Work with GDS platforms, preferably Amadeus, and understand profile management, mid-office, and back-office processes. Analyze business requirements related to web-based and desktop applications. Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and global teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues. Prepare clear and concise documentation, reports, presentations, and process documents. Track defects, coordinate issue resolution, and monitor the bug lifecycle using JIRA. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and requirement discussions. Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance business efficiency. Support testing activities, requirement validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT), as required. Coordinate multiple priorities and ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables. Required Skills Hands-on knowledge of at least one GDS platform, preferably Amadeus. Familiarity with profile management, mid-office, and back-office operations. Understanding of web-based and desktop applications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to create business requirements documents, functional documentation, and reports. Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and geographically distributed teams. Core Competencies Basic knowledge of AS400 systems. Awareness of AWS technologies and database concepts. Understanding of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall methodologies. Defect tracking and bug lifecycle management. Process analysis and continuous improvement. Stakeholder management, teamwork, and reporting. Tools & Technologies JIRA Confluence Microsoft SharePoint Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Preferred Candidate Profile A candidate with GDS experience, strong business analysis and documentation skills, and familiarity with airline or travel operations would be preferred. Basic AS400 knowledge and exposure to AWS and databases would be an added advantage.
